The Intent is the explosive pro model of Japan's own Shota Tezuka. This incarnation of his new signature board is both more explosive and smoother through transitions at the same time. The core of the Intent features O'Briens featherweight construction, designed to keep the board light and fast underfoot. This core works to support the 3-stage rocker that provides the explosive pop that has become a staple of Shota's boards. A step-down rail feature provides a consistent and deep edge that holds through the top of the wake, which works with a variable edge bevel helps to sustain a smooth transition. For landings, O'Brien has you sorted with a centre spine that helps to keep your knees in their sockets and soften landings.

Rocker Line

Aggressive 3-Stage Rocker – An aggressive 3-stage rocker with a maximised flat spot and a pronounced kick in the tip and tail. This shape gives a fast, hard edge into the wake to finish with huge explosive pop for maximum height.

Laminates

Layered Tri-Axial Glass – Makes sure your board doesn’t soften over the years. 3 way strung, layered fibreglass will help to keep you poppin’ without sacrificing flex where you want it

Base

Delta Base – v-shaped “Chevron” channels in the tip and tail of the board help disrupt water, allowing for a smoother edge, and provide hold through and up the wake.
Step-Down Rail – Provides water flow through to the outer fins, giving maximum edge hold.
